Meet Rosario Manjarrez, our 2025 Edward G. Lopez Award recipient!
The Edward G. Lopez Award honors public health employees for their exceptional contributions to improving the health and quality of life of people in Solano County. This award is announced annually during the Solano Public Health Division-Wide Meeting.
This year, the recipient is Rosario Manjarrez, Health Education Specialist with the Health Promotion and Community Wellness Bureau. Rosario is the Oral Health Project Coordinator for the Solano Oral Health Education Program. In 2024, the Solano Oral Health Education Program provided vital oral health services to students in Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Child Start, and Early Head Start across Solano County. The program conducted screenings for 609 students, administered fluoride varnish to 305, and completed 295 Kindergarten Oral Health Assessments. Additionally, 910 students participated in educational lessons on oral health, promoting better habits and awareness from an early age. A focus on oral health at a young age helps improve the health and well-being of our youngest residents and their families.
Congratulations and thank you for your commitment and service, Rosario!
